Walk and talk with Mama Hala
Experience 1 hour “walk the stress out & talk” in an indoors weather-controlled Recreation Center walking track during cold months or enjoy the beauty of the outdoor trails and stunning nature of our beautiful capital city of Ottawa in the warmer months.
Horticultural / Plant Therapy Session
Gardening and indoors planting is linked to mental clarity by reducing stress, anxiety, and mood disorders or depression. Plants help in shifting the focus away from the difficulties. For this reason, doctors recommend gardening to people including those who have had a loss in their lives. Learn to propagate, plant & distress while talking with Mama Hala!

Parenting Couching Sessions
Mama Hala provides knowledge and tools as an educator, supporting parents to learn communication skills, and how to handle their own emotions, needs, and feelings in a way that ignites deeper connection with their children. In addition to other strategies to manage their children’s behaviors. Between sessions, parents use and practice what they have learned and return to the next session to discuss progress, adjust strategies as needed, and learn new skills.
For example:
- Establishing house rules, structure, and consistent routines
- Learning to provide specific praise and attention for appropriate behaviors (praising good behavior often) and not providing attention for mild, annoying but not harmful behaviors (choosing your battles)
- Using developmentally appropriate directions and commands
- Using consistent and effective disciplinary strategies
